Thanksgiving 2020
I thank my God upon every remembrance of you. Philippians 1:3.
Thanksgiving . . . Maybe we will be observing traditions today that we have long held near and dear. Maybe we will be observing the holyday a little differently than we usually do because we feel compelled to isolate or socially distance ourselves. Maybe our Thanksgiving will be drastically different this year — with no hope of ever returning to our long-held traditions because we have an empty chair at our table that cannot be filled.
If you are enjoying a big family and friends celebration, I wish you many memorable moments and the happiest Thanksgiving yet known to you.
If you are sitting down to a table with an empty chair, my heart breaks for you, and my prayers go up for you. I am sorry for your loss and your heartache.
If you are alone today, my thoughts are especially with you. I sincerely wish I could have you over for a cup of tea, some pumpkin pie, and a long conversation.
Whatever your circumstances are today, I hope and pray that you know how much your heavenly Father loves you. He does. He loves each and everyone of us very much, and He cares about you and your circumstances.
I imagine this year my friends and family will observe our tradition of going ’round the dinner table and giving everyone an opportunity to state things for which he or she is most thankful. When my turn comes, I will be mentioning all of you. I am thankful for you, and I am blessed to call you my Readers. I appreciate you. Thank you.
May God bless you and your loved ones today and always. May you know His peace, His love, and His bountiful provision.
