Prayer Isn’t Just a Just
Prayer isn’t “Just a Just”
“All I can do is just pray”
“We pray when there’s nothing else we can do; Jesus wants us to pray before we do anything at all.” Quote from Oswald Chambers. How many times have we said, or heard someone else say, “All I can do is just pray.”
Just. Just? Just pray? Prayer isn’t “just a just.”
Pray. It is the most important thing we can do.
Praying is the most important thing we can do.
Even if we firmly believe that prayer isn’t “just a just,” we so often get busy trying to do something, and we don’t pray until we have a problem, or when a problem arises, we don’t pray until we have exhausted every possible way of solving our problem.
Then, in our quiet moment of defeat, we think about prayer, and we pray about the problem.
Pray before . . .
If we do approach prayer this way, we want to adjust our thinking and start praying before . . . pray before we begin our day . . . pray before we start a new project . . . pray before we undertake a new endeavor . . . pray before we encounter any problems . . . pray before . . ..
Let’s make prayer our first resort . . . not our last
When we have problems arise, we want to see prayer as the first line of attack and not something we do after we have exhausted every other possible way of fixing a problem. When we have problems arise, we want to pray over those problems — first — before we attempt to do anything else about them. In short, we want to make prayer our first resort . . . not our last.
What problems or difficult circumstances are you facing in your life today? Have you prayed about them? Wherever you are, take a moment, and put all of your other thoughts on hold.
Pray now
Pray, and ask God to solve your problems for you, or or ask Him to give you the wisdom to handle your problems the way He wants you to handle them — the way that would please Him most.
