Prayer for Mercy
Prayer for Mercy
A Prayer for Mercy. While my hope may be that we are all experiencing the most uplifting days of our lives, my communications with readers lead me to believe many of us are experiencing some of the most challenging days of our lives.
The scripture in today’s post is a continuation of a psalmic prayer uttered by David when he despaired.
“Turn to me and have mercy, for I am alone and in deep distress. My problems go from bad to worse. Oh, save me from them all!
“Feel my pain and see my trouble. Forgive all my sins. See how many enemies I have and how viciously they hate me!
“Protect me! Rescue my life from them! Do not let me be disgraced, for in You I take refuge. May integrity and honesty protect me, for I put my hope in You.” Psalm 25:16-21.
What is your current life experience? Whatever you are experiencing today, God wants to hear your prayer.
If you are shouting praises and thanksgivings from the mountain top, God is glad to hear from you; if you are crying out from the deepest valley of your lifetime, God also wants to hear from you. If life experiences have left you bankrupt in your emotional trust account, know that you can trust Him with your deepest thoughts and feelings.
If, like David, you are alone and in deep distress, know that you never need be really alone. If the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God Who created this awesome universe is your God, and Jesus is your Lord and Savior, you will never, ever be alone no matter how much you may feel alone because you have and will always have the Holy Spirit with you. John 14:15-17.
Have you prayed yet today? Thank God for your blessings; lay your burdens at His feet.
