Not One Single Word
Not One Single Word
“I think that some of the greatest prayer is prayer where you don’t say one single word or ask for anything.” Quote from A.W. Tozer.
As a writer and speaker and former attorney, I have always loved words . . . written words . . . spoken words. Words . . . words . . . and more words. I like them. Words are my tools, and I like to have lots of tools in my toolkit.
I like to know what words mean. I like to look them up. I like to use new ones that I have just learned, and I try to learn new ones everyday . . . but every once in awhile, I run out of words. It is as if I used my quota for the day, and there doesn’t seem to be one single word left in my head. They’re all gone.
Today is one of those days. I have now been sitting at my computer for a good two hours looking through possible post photos and quotes about prayer — looking for inspiration so that I can say something to all of you to encourage you to pray.
If you are feeling like I am feeling right now . . . if we are all out of words, it is ok. We don’t have to utter any words to pray. We can just be still before our God, and He will hear our hearts. Some of our best prayers are communicated . . . with no words.
Please be encouraged. When words fail us, and we still long to commune with our Creator, let us simply sit before Him in silence, and let us allow Him to hear our hearts, and let us open our hearts to hear His.
Blessings,
Robyn.
