Max Lucado was born in San Angelo, Text, the son of an oil field worker and nurse. He is a former missionary to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and former pastor of Oak Hills Church in San Antonio, Texas. He has authored numerous books including Before Amen: The Power of a Simple Prayer. You can find him on the web at www.maxlucado.com.
