Charles Spurgeon

Charles Haddon Spurgeon was born in Kelvedon, Essex, England. He began preaching at the age of 19 and became known for his masterful way with words. He is sometimes referred to as the “Prince of Preachers.” He was a prolific writer and authored many books as well as hymns. Spurgeon Baptist Bible College, now a part of Piedmont University, was founded in 1970 in Mulberry, Florida and was named after him.

Born June 19, 1834.
Departed for Home January 31, 1892.
