Prayer Blog Begins Today

Prayer Blog Begins Today

But First, a Little My Fervent Prayers History

Today, Mother’s Day, I officially start publishing this blog entitled My Fervent Prayers. I am so looking forward to talking with you about prayer and to encouraging you to pray.

Social media accounts launched first

On April 27, 2020, I launched the My Fervent Prayers (“MFP”) social media accounts (Instagram and Facebook with LinkedIn on the way), and since then I have been working on finishing pages for the website. The theme verse page, and three of the four key verse pages, and one of two About pages are completed and published. The remaining pages should be completed and published this week. With just a couple more pages left to write, I am now beginning to write blog posts which I hope to post at least twice each week.

Foundational Quote Author Bios Posted Already

If you look at the blog pages entitled Blog and All Blog Posts . . . they are actually two different pages . . . you will see there are several posts already on the sight. Most of the existing posts are bios for individuals who will be quoted on this website and in the social media accounts. I created those posts as foundational work so that you would have a place to find information on the people I intend to quote.

A road map for where we are heading in this blog

So, today, May 10, 2020, I begin the “content” blog posts. The purpose of this blog is to encourage you to pray or to pray more or to pray more effectively – depending on where you are in your prayer life.

I intend to start out talking about prayer and whether we believe prayer is effective. Then, I will likely spend a fair bit of time talking about why we don’t pray “as we ought” when we believe God answers our prayers, and even though we believe our prayers have an effect on God. This initial part of the blog will require each of us to do some soul-searching.

Early on I plan to talk to you about what I call the Dirty Dozen Prayer Preventers (“the DDPPs”). This part of the blog is challenging to write because I like to be a positive person, and those DDPP’s are a little negative, but if we delve into them and fully understand them and their impact on us, then we can better overcome them. Overcoming the DDPPs will lead us to the part of the blog that I am most looking forward to talking to you about – the part about how we are going to get focused and get organized and get the prayer lives we have always wanted.

Laying a good foundation upon which we can build better prayer habits

As we move forward, we want to remember something my mom used to always say, which is that, “Rome wasn’t built in a day.” Great prayer lives are also not built in a day. So, join me on this journey, and we will just take everything step-by-step. We will start by first laying a good foundation of information about ourselves, on which, with His help, we can build better prayer habits.

Pray. Pray. Pray.

Let us be praying every step of the way that God will give us insight and wisdom and courage to do what we need to do have better communication with Him and that along with that better communication, we will also develop a deeper relationship with Him.

I look forward to talking to you soon.

Blessings,
Robyn
