Clive Staples “Jack” Lewis was born in Belfast Ireland. Although he was raised in a religious family with a maternal grandfather who was a priest, he became an atheist at age 15. He taught at both Oxford and Cambridge Universities, and he ultimately returned to his faith due to influential arguments with his friend and colleague, J.R.R. Tolkien. CS Lewis authored many books including Mere Christianity, The Screwtape Letters, and the beloved series, The Chronicles of Narnia.
